Sobering Message! An outstanding message that made a compelling, incontrovertible argument against Christians drinking that also dealt fairly with the Scriptures. Too many have made themselves look foolish by saying the "wine" of the Bible was grape juice. Dr. Mazak's breadth of knowledge--history, theology, and the ways of our fallen world--lend his message an authority few other fundamentalist preachers can claim. This would be a good sermon to share with young Christians, especially emergents and the "young, restless, reformed" neo-Calvinists for whom drinking is overtly embraced as "Christian liberty." Dr. Mazak's proving the alcohol consumed in the Bible was closer to "near-beer" than to the potent brews and distilled spirits of today would "harsh the buzz" of many a tattooed hipster "Christ-follower" hoisting a pint at his local Theology on Tap event.

Don't hear much on this wonderful study of something not normally spoken on these days. Most people are in a church and don't drink because no one else does or on the flip side go to a church and because so and so drink and they are good people, assume it is okay to drink. I think it is always good to know the whys of some difficult issues.

Great Sermon! Everyone drinks something. Why not a little alcohol? God has given all things that pertain to life and Godliness in his Word. God's answer fits perfectly with all of history. I encourage you listen carefully as Dr. Mazak hits the issue head on and honestly takes on all the excuses Christians give for the beverage use of Alcohol. For sure a message to be saved and used as a resource in ministry.

Dr. Greg's done his homework!!! A plain, straightforward title hides some valuable insights and researches. Most importantly is that Dr. Greg wants to convey what the bible intends to say than twist it for his own opinion. Very open to God.

Right on the Mark! Another excellent lesson by Dr. Mazak. Dr. Mazak is the best at ridding us of our preconceptions and "laying down the smack" the way God intended. He is a tremendous teacher (despite being a Browns fan). As an ex-fundamentalist, I can't say I always agree with him (I'd be worried if I agreed 100% with anyone other than God!), but if you want to disagree with him, it's going to be a long journey through a lot of Scripture, with the result more times than not leaving you empty handed! Thanks to all for making these available for download.
