“ Great Sermon! ”
There is no excuse around this that you could work with. For me this was hard to want to listen to, but we are the ones that need to here it and we know who we are. I thank the Good Lord for preachers like you. Now I must take action. I want to please you Father. I can not afford not to. The road is narrow but the rewards are sweeter than honey.

Impossible to change your mind? As an ex-drunkard I have never met a converted drunkard who is then into 'social' drinking for he never forgets the dangers of this drug even in its shortest measure and how easy it can abuse even in supposed moderation! Who can define 'moderation' with regards to today's alcoholic beverages that are a far cry from the bible versions? Just one drink can cause drunkeness for some and that is a plain fact. I implore christian brethren and sisters to listen to this excellent message with first a prayerful heart and a teachable meek spirit. This warning though in small writing is that, by grace, it will probably change your mind forever-so take heed!

“ Great Sermon! ”
Excellent message!!! Bro. Stephen Hamilton points out how drinking beverage alcohol will destroy the witness of a Christian. This message is a must for a Christian who believes he has the "liberty" to drink in moderation. AMEN to the fact that the Bible does not use the word "alcoholic"--but instead uses the word "drunkard". Alcoholism is a euphemism for "drunkenness"-- Moderate drinking is a joke. Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. (Proverbs 20:1) God bless you, Bro. Stephen Hamilton

“ A Much Needed Trumpet Call ”
This message must be heard and heeded by all professing Christians. Alcohol IS a drug. It is no use pointing at heroin addicts, casual marijuana users etc when there are three fingers pointing back at us. I was a moderate drinker but used to partake in occasional heavy drinking. It made me obnoxious at best, except to hooray henry pals who were equally obnoxious, even after only a couple of drinks. My marriage came about due to meeting my future wife, in a night club when I was drunk. My marriage fell apart as a result of my predilection to alcohol and the resultant cruelty to my wife, along with a marriage having been founded on Godless lines. I was a broken man at my divorce and began to drink heavily. During all these years I attended churches - but no solid teaching was given, just the usual happy clappy nonsense - no repentance. In spite of these churches, the Lord has saved me and three years ago January 9th 2001, I gave up drinking. I can safely say that it was the LORD who gave me the strength to stop, because only a few months previously I had tried to stop and could not. I do not miss it. I look back and realise that forty years of living in darkness, yet drawn by God to salvation is glory all to Christ. Gambling has gone, as has the television (which is run by people who are not saved and thus are at enmity with God) My LORD is better than any female companion. My LORD is better than any mind altering substance. My LORD is my ALL. If someone calls that legalism, then I would prefer to have that than the neo-evangelical liberalism. Bless you for this good message.

“ Well Worth Listening To! ”
Thank you so much for this sermon! If you (like me) were always wondering what the real danger is in "social drinking", this is well worth listening to. Enjoy!
