The second message in the verse-by-verse series through the book of Ephesians.
In Ephesians 1:4-5, God is not talking about being saved, He is speaking to those who are already saved. The people who are chosen (they are already saved) are chosen for His benefits, not for salvation.
We believe that the Bible teaches that election is based on foreknowledge. In contrast, the doctrine of Calvinism, foreknowledge is based on election. Foreknowledge is knowing something beforehand. God is the only One Who has complete and perfect foreknowledge. While foreknowledge is knowing something before it happens, foreknowledge does not cause it to happen. God has given us the ability to choose. And, when we choose to put our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ for salvation, we are adopted into God’s family and we are eternally secure.

Confusing Dear brother, What you are preaching is not predestination, but pre-knowing. For predestination to have any meaning at all it must mean that God in His Sovereignty PRE-DESTINES a person to a certain destiny, that is, salvation. Your definition makes God subservient to human will.

Who's misreading? Always amazed how those who deny God's sovereignty and election will be the ones who do the misreading of verses. It couldn't be anymore clear, the verses you read aloud prove God's election, predestination, choosing, yet you purposely emphasize the words you want to try and disprove it. You can't read anything else into this and other verses. God elects. Dead people cannot respond to the Gospel until GOD makes them alive and willing to hear. All men are totally depraved and unable to "accept" Jesus.

Easy to Understand Pastor Cucuzza uses the truth found in Scripture and simple illustrations to explain the wonderful benefits that every believer has been given by God. I am glad to finally understand confusing terms, and to begin to realize the blessings that are mine.
