“ Great Sermon! ”
Thanks, SermonAudio for having the SErmons by Topic choice to find good sermons like this one. But it is sad to note that it is 15 years old, and it is the most recent sermon on this topic, which should be at the top. Because Biblical womanhood is neglected in the US, we have so many problems in our society, and the key verse is Isaiah 3:12, where the curse is given, where children oppress and women rule. Nothing would better describe the US than this verse, much better than the verse commonly brought out for May's National Day of Prayer, "...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves..." Many problems with that verse, like 'my people' does not equal every resident in the US (illegal immigrants included), and 'humble themselves' the US is not a humble country! But lets' focus on the Isaiah 3:12 verse, which gives us the root cause of so many problems. Did you know that even liberals will agree with conservatives that one reason why the Crime Rate in the US has gone down is that there are less young people around (both sides give abortion the reason for that decrease)? Isn't that like saying 'children oppress' by being criminals? How many cases have you seen of shootings or robberies done by seasoned citizens?

“ Mistitled ”
Good sermon but instead of being on the topic of womanhood & what it means to be a woman in Christ, it was a message about biblical marriage. I appreciated that the message was balanced in that it addressed roles both husband & wives. However, if I understood the teaching correctly, it's my opinion that the spiritual responsibility of the head of the house was overstated. Authority has no role in salvation (Ezekiel 18:20 & Galatians 3:28) & if a man is accountable for the spiritual welfare of his house, that responsibility is to wash with the word (Ephesians 5:26). Lastly, while I am a woman w/a big mouth, I personally think the nagging proverbs are not restricted to wives but also apply to the bride of Christ or the church that grumbles against God which I see as an important point especially on this topic.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I listened to this sermon today and as a christian married woman who has be served a petition of divorce from my christian spouse (who is a minister of the gospel) I can truely say that I appreciate this one and the Godly way it was delivered. We have young children and 2 of them are young girls. I pray God helps me to teach this to them and my son as best I can since living it out in there presence is currently under attack by the evil one. Much of this is exactly what I was taught by my mother as a child but it is good for women to be reminded of this regularly as it is so easy to stray from the duties God has called us to, especially when we are in the workforce and see our incomes as a way of being a helper to our husbands, in which I am starting to beleive it is actually a hinderance as opposed to a means of helping. My mother lived these principles out in front of me before my father and step-father's passing and from what I can see, it was a challenge at times but certainly doable and in a graceful way. May God continue to bless you and your family in the ministry.

“ Family Life As Depicted in Holy Scripture ”
Yesterday, I sat down to listen to this sermon for the third time. I invited my wife to listen with me, and she agreed. Pastor Doug surveys 14 items that apply to marriage -- all 14 to men, and 7 of them to women. The good thing about the sermon is that it is not, as Pastor Doug notes in the sermon, a series of tips about how to have a better marriage. Rather, husbands and wives have a set of responsibilities to carry out, commanded by Almighty God. We may carry out those responsibilities well or we may carry them out poorly. I had been dealing with some heart issues, and this sermon gave me some important ideas to pray through, and I continue to pray. My wife didn't say much after the sermon was finished. However, today she suggested that we go away together for a day, and that her sister come over and stay with our daughter. It seemed to me like a good idea. I believe there is a strong link between listening to the sermon and her suggestion. However, I am not recommending this sermon for its therapeutic value, but because I believe it to be true.
