“ Great Sermon! ” This message was true in the time of the Reformation & continues to be true today since the Word of God does not change and is very clear in this issue. The Roman Catholic church has not changed but Protestantism has changed since a great majority no longer believes in the historicist view of the prophetic revelation of Daniel chap. 2,7, 8-9 & 10-12 as our forefathers did. Until the middle nineteen century all Protestant interpreters espoused the historicist view. The Protestant martyrs who gave their lives since the dark ages because of Papacy persecution would turn in their graves if they were to see that the majority of the Protestants no longer protest but are joining the "mother of harlots" described in Revelation 17. They have not become Catholics but have extended their hand in brotherhood with Catholicism in heart and mind by setting aside major Scriptural truths for which many of the saints died for. There are many sincere Catholics whom have not seen the truth yet, and God will yet open their eyes to it. God is now calling all of us out of Babylon, which is any religious system that is in contradiction to God's Word and also any individual whose heart has not yet bow down to the truths clearly revealed in the Scripture & are following doctrines of man instead of God.

“ Powerful Debate ” The most powerful part of the debate, in my estimation, was when Dr. Paisley mentioned Dr. Brown's ordination. Brown was ordained upon profession of adherence to the Articles of the Church of Ireland. If a person claims to believe or adhere to the doctrines of his church in order to be ordained, then his ordination is a sham when he backs down from those beliefs - and he should have the decency to realize and admit that. I wish there were more eloquent defenders of the Reformed postion regarding Rome. I wouldn't want to be on the opposing side of any subject in a debate with Dr. Paisley. I was very blessed.

“ Great Sermon! ” As an ex catholic and previous despiser of Ian Paisley I have to say he is absolutely right. Once God opened my eyes to the truth about the catholic church I see it as so necessary to expose their dark deeds and point out to dear people that Rome is the wrong way and also the Mystery Babylon spoken of in Revelation 17. I understand now why Dr Paisley was so caricatured in the press as his stance is against the luciferian one world government/one world religion plan.Let us take courage and stand for truth.

“ Very, very good debate! ” Dr. Paisley masterfully explains his position and even appeals to the creeds and confessions of faith of his opponent who is forced to make foolish arguments. Of course, the point of a debate is to win, which Dr. Paisley does in all humility. But more important than winning is that he is able to share truth and preach The Gospel at the same time. Well worth 30 minutes of your time.

“ Great Sermon! ” Dear Brothers and Sisters, may i plead to you that while we are thankful for The Lord for saving us, and that we are privileged enough to Know and worship the One True God, and that we know and agree without a shadow of a doubt that RC and whatever it stands for is wrong, I beg us to have sympathy for the lost souls that are still ensnared and trap in the lies and deception of RC churches. Pray for them, that they too may be delivered, condemn the sin of misrepresenting God and His word, but condemn not the people. I praise God for people who dare stand up and speak the truth, but i think God will be so much more honoured and glorified, if we dare pray for these misled ones that they too, may be walk in the true path of righteousness by having a true personal relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ. “ Needed information! ” The Papacy is the AntiChrist, the man of sin and the son of perdition. Mr. Paisley has history and the Bible on his side. More Christians need to listen to such messages. Being a former Catholic, I can say without hesitation that catholicism is the blasphemous religion of antichrist, the ultimate salvation-by-works religion. “ Great Sermon! ” Church History is one of my favorite studies. I agree completely with Dr. Paisley. Before I was born again I joined the Catholic Church. In my instruction, Jesus Christ was not even mentioned, and certainly not the necessity of being born again; but the priest helped me choose a patron saint, whose name I now cannot remember. At age 47 I was born again by the grace of God and the first thing I did was leave that apostate institution. If the Pope is not "the" anti-Christ, he is certainly one of them because the word "antichrist" means "In place of Christ." Anyone that sets himself up as the one by whom we must go through to get to Christ has usurped Christ's Authority and is, therefore, "Antichrist." Thank God He gave us the Scriptures so we could assess what is false and what is true by His own Word.

“ Great Sermon! ” I am the Pastor of a Church in Scotland and have been preaching on the topic of Romanism & Ecumenism & The Heritage of Martin Luther and came by this artilce by accident or was it? I was greatly blessed by your bold speech against the Heresy of Rome. I doubt that this heretic that debated you on your show was even saved. Christ clearly says of the Church at Thiatara that they are the Church of continuing sacrafice and "Eat food unto Idols" The bible clearly states communicating with the dead is strictly forbidden may this deciever who you debated and in his on words defended a Church that God calls a Harlot repent of his sin.

“ Awesome Debate ” I only wish more pastors in the United States had would tell the truth with regard to the Roman Catholic Church. Also, Dr. Paisley truly shows class when he states that the abuses are those of the papacy and not "day to day" Roman Catholics. I know many Roman Catholics in the United States have no idea exactly what the papacy means.

“ Great Sermon! ” This is awesome! I can't wait to hear other sermons/debates by Dr Paisley. This was done over 14 years ago, but it is still for today.
I don't believe that a Pope will be the Anti-chirst(a political figure), but rather he will be the False prophet, the religious arm of the unholy trinity to come. Dr Paisley is correct about the false teachings of the Catholic Church. We need more voices like his. I see him as a godly man, earnestly contending for the faith. Thank you for this site. “ The meaning of ” Those of us who are truly Christ's can learn a lot from our dear brother Paisley about the meaning of the word "backbone" as it applies to a believer's steadfastness and courage. “ Revealling Discussion! ” Clearly a difference is displayed in this discussion between a convinced Christian believer who tells it as He sees it (Paisley) and a career churchman who tells it as everybody else wants to hear it. Which of the two faces prosecution because of his beliefs? The same is the Man of God, after the likes of the apostle Paul. The double talking (I agree it's wrong, but don't condemn it - I sympathise with atheists etc. who denies even his own avowed ministry). Mr Paisley has never killed for his faith, but I'm sure he would die for it! That's a believer!

“ Great Sermon! ” As a former RC seminarian, and the only Fundamentalist Christian to have been allowed to study the 3-year course with Maryvale, Birmingham (a course to update priests, nuns and RC catechists on the 1994 RC Catechism, I think this is an excellent debate. I was really proud to hear Dr Paisley stand his ground - very successfully!!! It was lovely to hear how he wasn't swayed and stuck to his guns. Certainly NOT another powder-puff pastry preacher.
