Hedonism is the pursuit of pleasure, and as a philosophy, it is the pursuit of pleasure as the highest good and proper aim of life. God has designed humans to experience pleasure for which we are to be thankful to Him. When pleasure becomes a pursuit in life greater than God or when it is sought outside of the boundaries God has set for experiencing it, then it is the worldly and sinful pursuit of the lusts of the flesh, lust of the eyes and lust of pride (1 John 2:15-16). We have to be on guard against this ourselves and help those who stumble in the sinful pursuit of hedonism
