Hebrews 9:23-28 1. We cannot claim ignorance of what the Gospel requires of us. (The Problem) • God has given us what we need to understand the gospel. • Christ himself has shown us what is required of us. • The Gospel has already provided the reconciliation we need. 2. We MUST embrace the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and how it changes me. (The Correction) • Embracing Christ's sacrifice is not embracing religion that is to point us to Christ. • Embracing Christ's sacrifice is not embracing moralism although the gospel brings better morality. 3. Otherwise, my appointment to meet Christ will be one of terror. (The Follow-Through) • You will die and face God's judgment. • You need Christ as your advocate before God. • This appointment is most assuredly coming.
