Hebrews 9:11-14 1. Our worship is misplaced because we do not understand who Christ really is. (The Problem) 2. Our worship is realigned when we see Christ as the One who changes who we are. (The Corrective) a. Christ's change is one of heavenly substance. b. Christ's change is not effected by inferior sacrifice. c. Christ's change is not temporary or given to change. d. Christ's change is not one of external morality. i. Moral change involves rites and rituals to address what is wrong. ii. Moral change involves people who continually fail to measure up. iii. Moral change only addresses one's behavior. iv. Moral change cannot give you entry into God's holy presence.
3. We worship as people who are saved from eternal death. (The Follow-Through)
a. Christ was pure from the inside out. b. Christ was morally pure also. c. Christ lived ONLY in service to the Father.
