With the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that altar and those sacrifices were done away with because they were fulfilled in Christ. It was a problem for the Jews to understand that now Jesus Christ is the center of our faith and that Christians have much more in Him than was possible with the carnal ordinances of the Old Covenant.
