As the disciples reached the top of the mountain, it wasn't the view that took their breath away but the sight of the Lord Jesus transfigured before them. This extraordinary moment marked a pivotal point in His ministry.
Peter, James, and John were privileged to witness the unveiled power and glory of Christ. His radiance reflected the beauty of heaven, a sight that would later strengthen them as they watched the suffering Saviour in Gethsemane.
Moses and Elijah also appeared, affirming the reality of life after death. Representing the law and the prophets, they showed how all of the Old Testament points to Christ as its fulfilment.
Peter made an impetuous request to prolong the experience, but the voice of God interrupted, commanding them to "Hear ye Him." This divine instruction reminds us to set our focus on Christ alone.
The disciples, overwhelmed, fell on their faces, but the Lord Jesus touched them to strengthen and comfort them. This same Jesus is with us today. Have we truly seen His beauty and felt His power in our lives?
