"Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth..." and Jesus said in Revelation 3:19, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten." God's correction is always based on his love for us, and it is a part of his grace. He is working on us to prepare us for eternity with him. In a world like this it takes the bitter and the sweet to accomplish that divine work in us. Let us not "fail of the grace of God" by despising, resisting, or growing weary of his correction - even when it is with hard things in our lives.
