He was licensed to the ministry May 12, 1946; preached his first sermon May 19, 1946; accepted his first pastorate October 1946 at McKnight Baptist Church in Laneville, Texas and was ordained November 1946 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Laurel, Mississippi. Harold Brunson was one of the five original professors at Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas, where he taught evangelism for five years. For many years, Bro Harold preached in evangelistic meetings under a gospel tent which seated 1100 people, many nights preaching to overflow crowds. These evangelistic meetings were held across America. The Lord greatly blessed his preaching and brought thousands of people to salvation in these meetings. Bro.
