Our team continues to work hard behind-the-scenes to revamp & strengthen our media infrastructure. It is extremely important to us that the delivery platform for the 1.5M+ sermons is the most secure, affordable, and robust it can possibly be.
Here are some highlights of recent developments:
High Quality Audio. All sermons uploaded are now encoded at much higher audio quality with variable bitrates.
Multiple Redundant Copies. Did you know that we not only create a high-quality and low-quality version of all sermons for people sensitive to bandwidth usage, but we also maintain an "archive" version of the sermon with lossless quality.. and then we copy these three files to a completely separate storage vendor for redundancy. That's a total of six copies for every sermon on the site!
Automatic Phase-Correction. Audio that has been recorded "out-of-phase" on legacy A/V systems are now automatically corrected by our intelligent encoders as part of the encoding process!
Automatic Volume Normalization. We are also running all uploaded audio through our volume-normalizer filter as part of the encoding process so that really quiet audio will be a thing of the past!
Waveforms, Tagging, Auto-MP3. We are also doing a plethora of other things related to audio sermons like generating our signature waveforms that beautifully display in our sermon players. Of course we continue to properly apply both v1 and v2 ID3 tags to all MP3s. And, as a courtesy, we automatically generate an audio-only MP3 version of the sermon for all uploaded videos.
Incredibly, all of this is happening without any additional fees or restrictions. No bandwidth limits. No upload limits. No storage limits. One flat monthly cost.
If that weren't enough, we actually have much more by way of a new-and-improved Sermon Dashboard that supports trimming, fading, and scheduling of sermons!
