Fascinating Part 1 and part 2 together are a fascinating account of a man who served his savior with his time, prayers, money and his love for the unlovely ones . It's wonderful to read about what God will do at times with just one person who is willing to yield his life to Him.
Thank you to the reader for introducing us to this servant of Christ.
Great Sermon! This was very helpful. The pastor reminded us that in this fallen world, each of us must endure bitter circumstances at times, and each of us has bitterness in our soul at times. We must learn from scripture how God wants us to deal with bitterness. Not by being mute when we should speak (Psalm 39). And not by grumbling as though God is not good.
Good introduction to this series on bitterness. I look forward to hearing the rest of the series. Such an important topic.
Great Sermon! Wonderful applications. I was especially struck by the admonition not to commit idolatry toward other human beings. How I wish evangelical Christians in the US would realize that truth and adjust their attitudes toward political leaders.
Also liked the part about the need to deflect any glory and praise that comes to us and give it to God, to whom it belongs. How we ignore this truth in this day of self-esteem. Christian parents should hear this and teach their children not to accept praise for themselves, but rather give it to God.
Great Sermon! What a wonderful encouragement to pray without ceasing and not lose hope. I needed to hear this, since I grow very weary of praying for salvation for my family members day after day, year after year. Thank you for strengthening my arms.
I also appreciated your comments on verse 11, that we are highly valued by God, not because of ourselves but because we are in Christ Jesus. Thank you for your good reminders that we must humble ourselves before the Almighty God, and at the same time we must remember that He values us greatly because of His beloved Son.
Very encouraging It is good to be reminded that our nation has been in a deplorable spiritual state in earlier times, even as it is now. Please Lord, move again in the hearts of your people so that we will humble ourselves and pray - for repentance and awakening in our own hearts, our churches, our nation and the world.
Wonderful testimony I've listened to all five parts of the story of this man's conversion and his life after conversion. It is just wonderful! Praise God for working in this man's heart and letting him know that Y'shua is the Messiah. Very encouraging for anyone who wants to witness to a Jewish friend.
So encouraging! What a wonderful example of God's faithfulness when his people cry out to him for help in witnessing! This is an excellent example of how any of us can witness to Jewish friends and neighbors. Thank you for sharing this.
Beautiful Sermon! Beautiful! Wonderful! Fills my heart with joy! And with longing for the new earth when, as Pastor Borgman says, we will have ever-increasing joy in God. Yes, hasten the day, Lord!
Very good Very good. Countercultural. American Christians need to be reminded of this, since we are often more concerned abput prosperity and comfort rather than the things of God.
The plain and simple truth Amen! How good it is to hear the fundamental truths of our faith. It is not temporal blessings that are our greatest need, it is forgiveness for our sins through the death of Christ. Thank you
Wonderful! Wonderful teaching! Why don't we hear more teaching like this? We need to be more diligent to pray for the spiritual awakening of the Jewish people, for their good and for ours. God has promised us enormous blessings!
Last comment is despicable Dear SermonAudio staff, why in the world have you posted the previous comment and allowed it to remain here for the last five years? This woman is promoting a discredited idea called the khazar hypothesis. Anyone who wants to read about it can look that up on Wikipedia. It is false. Genetic studies on Jews have found no evidence of a khazar origin.
Her entire post is nothing but anti-semitic lies. Please do the right thing and delete it. True Christians love Jews and do not tell lies about them, lies which could inspire murderous acts such as the synagogue shooting in Poway yesterday.
Brilliant exposition of Mt 16:17-19 This was the most brilliant exposition of Matthew 16:17-19 that I've ever heard. I'm going to have to listen to it again and write notes.
Great Sermon! There are so many things in this portion of scripture that have puzzled me over the years, such as verse 17. Now I understand so much that was a mystery before. Thank you.
Very convicting I hang my head in shame. Forgive me, Lord, for not wanting to live according to this portion of scripture. Help me to fear You, not people.
So exciting! Thank you so much for this sermon. I recently became disabled and this was such a wonderful reminder that having my sins forgiven through Christ is infinitely more important than being able to walk. I was so encouraged by this!
Really like your down-to-earth style and the way you bring out the drama of these events.
Great Sermon! The most energetic, vigorous, powerful exposition of this portion of scripture that I've ever heard! Really made the scenes come alive!
Great Sermon! Wow there is so much in this sermon. I had to keep pausing it to write notes. Parallels between Jesus and Moses, Jesus and Israel. Reading further in Jeremiah 31 to see what comes after the tears - the new covenant. Herod is crushed. The baby wins. God preserves the seed of the woman so that the redemption of the world would be accomplished. Wonderful truths.
Great Sermon! Wonderful sermon! Grateful for all the study that went into it. Yes, even genealogies can be exciting if we look at the details and see the bigger message God is giving us.
